Go Nuts!
Benefits of Eating Nuts
Start cracking those nuts! Individuals who eat at least an ounce of nuts at least 5 days out of the week have a 35 percent lower risk for heart disease. Nuts contain fiber and monounsaturated fat which may aid in decreasing LDL (bad) cholesterol.
Nuts are also high in calories and fat. If you have trouble stopping at one serving size, buy nuts in prepackaged servings or separate into baggies with 1.5 ounces each. Another idea is to incorporate nuts into your meals. Throw a handful of nuts into a stir fry, a chicken salad, a cup of yogurt, etc.
