Movie theatre food is not only expensive but highly unhealthy. For a medium popcorn without the butter, you are looking at 600 to 900 calories and around 50 grams of fat! That's the medium size without butter. A large tub of buttered popcorn is 1640 calories and a 126 grams of fat. Then when you add in a sugary drink, and some candy, you are looking at a pretty bad situation.

Instead of indulging in the unhealthy treats at the theatre, take your own. Pop your own healthy popcorn at home and put it in small serving size baggies. Take a trip to the grocery store and grab some healthy 100 calorie snack bags of your favorite treat. Here is an excellent idea, take a trip to the variety bin section at whole foods. They have bins with everything from nuts to dried fruits to Wasabi peas. Grab some bags and put a handful of your healthy favorites in each bag. Just a handful though. If you do that, you get a variety of healthy treats and its only a fraction of the cost of movie theatre food.
